Protime 2nd Best Workplace in Belgium SME segment!

"Investing in a good company culture more important than ever in home working hours: employees feel less committed to their organization"

BELGIUM - Aartselaar, March 16, 2021 – or the 9th year in a row, Protime received the 'Great Place To Work' label in its homeland Belgium. This award honors the sustained efforts of the specialist in time registration and work planning to continue investing in its employees and corporate culture. Peter s'Jongers, CEO and founder of Protime: "Investing in a strong company culture became even more important in these home working hours. For example, nearly one in three employees (29.4%) feel less committed to their organization compared to before the corona crisis." This is evident from a survey by Protime for which 1,000 Flemish employees who often to always work from home since the corona crisis were surveyed.

That employee satisfaction goes hand in hand with a strong corporate culture is something Protime is already proving for the 9th year in a row. "The impact of working from home on the 'camaraderie' and thus also the culture within a company, should not be underestimated. But even in this period, organizations can ensure that employees are not alienated from their corporate culture, but stronger, that they feel more involved with their organization. With initiatives such as virtual cafés, walking meetings, Trivial Time afternoon quiz, daily check-ins, Meet-up coffee breaks with new colleagues to get to know each other 'around the coffee machine', video challenges, ... we ensured that our people continued to enjoy visiting each other. Only in this way can organizations build a distinctive corporate culture and become a Great Place to Work," says Peter s'Jongers.

The survey also asked what organizations can do to increase employee engagement. Coming in at number one is "small gifts/surprises" (34.8%). It is striking that for one in five respondents (20.2%) the head office should remain a meeting place where they can meet regularly - corona proof. For almost one in three (31.7%), nothing extra needed to be done for this.

Top 5: What can companies do to increase employee engagement:

  1. Small gifts/surprises (34.8%)
  2. Headquarters as a meeting place where people meet regularly (20.2%)
  3. Weekly virtual activities such as a virtual café (16.7%)
  4. More follow-up by managers (14%)
  5. A virtual day start per team (8.8%)

Great Place To Work

Not only can Protime call itself a Great Place To Work for the 9th year in a row, we also won the silver medal in the 'BEST WORKPLACES™2021 BELGIUM' ranking for small and medium-sized companies.

In addition, Protime also won the special award 'Communicating in Corona Times'.
"Transparency, pro-activity, uniformity and repetition. That is what makes Protime's crisis communications strong. With digital acceleration, their pre-corona approach grew into a modern way of doing business. Initiatives such as a CEO webcast, frequent team leader calls, podcasts and a Corona roadmap came into place this year to reach as many Protimers as possible quickly with important messages," according to the jury.

Methodology

The online survey was conducted between February 17 and 26, 2021 by research bureau iVOX on behalf of Protime, among 1,000 Flemish employees who often to always work from home since the corona crisis. The survey is representative on age, gender and degree. The maximum margin of error is 3.02%.
