Workforce management and Time & Attendance by Iris de Jonghe & Raf Vrijens, Henrad
Planning is often something of an issue on the factory floor of a large organisation, particularly if the production line consists of many different activities. The planner must take the availability of the workers into account in order to affectively manage their work time. Production Manager Raf Vrijens of the Henrad radiator manufacturer has experience in this respect. “I manage the planning for the overall production line: 70 people spread over 25 to 30 jobs. Previously, I never had a clear verview of staff availability, and it took me a lot of time to find out who was available for work and when.” But those days are over. Since 2011, he has been preparing his schedules with the Protime planning module.
T&A processing by Mohammed Agdour, Gerresheimer Momignies
When Mohammed Agdour joined the company in 2003, the timekeeping system hadn't changed since the company was first formed. It was a manual system, particularly difficult to manage because it related, and still relates, to 50 different working-hour timetables. That meant that five people had to be dedicated to the personnel department, including two only for time management. An automated system was necessary to reduce the risk of error and free up staff from Human Resources for tasks with greater added value.
H.R. policy by Pol Duriau, Deli XL
ProTime has been in use as the time and attendance registration system of choice at Deli XL since the 1990s. In October 2004 the ProTime solution proved to be even more indispensible when Deli XL relocated from Jumet to Thuin where the company occupied a building of 400 metres in length and increased the workforce by 80 staff members in two days in order to respond to the arrival of two new major customers namely Quick and Pizza Hut. The time had come to beef up Protime's standard system and to adopt a global, decentralised, adaptable and scalable solution that would be linked to the access control system to restrict the flow of traffic in the warehouses and offices. A total and efficient solution.
A synchronised registration system by Erwin Klomp, ArcelorMittal Projects Europe
From the receptionist behind the front desk all the way up to the crane operator and the welders on the shop floor. Today everybody at ArcelorMittal Projects Europe in Heijningen uses Protime. The system was implemented during 2008 to the point that it is now impossible to imagine life at the steel giant wthiout it. “There was some resistance among staff in the early days”, IT manager Erwin Klomp concedes. “However, now everybody is on board, and the beauty of it is that, the final conclusion amongst employees and Managers is using Protime does not mean less, but more freedom.”
Workforce Management by Jos Straathof, Hewlett-Packard CDS
Keeping some kind of perspective over 450 employees is an intensive and time consuming affair. When these staff are distributed across 80 internal and 150 Customer specific cost locations, you are looking at something which resembles mission impossible. IT service provider Hewlett-Packard CDS Netherlands decided to take the bull by the horns and implemented Protime. Jos Straathof, Service Operations manager with HP CDS: “At the mere push of a button, we now have a full bird's eye view of our organisation. It is like a breath of fresh air.”
Effective HR policy by Peter De Waegeneer, Barry Callebaut
Charming Wieze, on the edge of the green Dender valley between Aalst and Dendermonde, was once known as a Mecca for beer lovers with the notorious Oktoberfeesten in the - yes, indeed - Oktoberhallen. Those high days are long gone but thanks to Barry Callebaut, the village now has another trump card for connoisseurs: it houses the largest chocolate factory in the world. Powered by Protime, that in addition also assists in the European streamlining and uniformising of the HR management...

This means that the production lines often have to be converted, with many engineering and logistical employees working alongside the production staff.
